Important: All other VoiceTrak parameters must be set to Default.

Use Tone/Cadence file: ProPlus.816

Notes:

Mailbox type should be set for "R" (supervised) monitoring of calls.

The basic 408 system will support a 2-port VoiceTrak with no expansion cards using ports 7 & 8. A 4-port VoiceTrak requires the purchase of a Type II (2-CO & 4-SLT) card from Samsung.

Transfer to fax machine. The tone table includes incoming fax detection. You may add an "X" type mailbox which transfers to a fax machine. Also add a line to the VOICE.BAT file which says: 'SET FAX_BOX=xxx' where xxx is mailbox for the fax machine. Not all fax machines send good CNG tones and will not transfer, but if fax tones are detected, the call will transfer to the extension specified in the FAX_BOX setting.

Programming Notes

These notes apply to the 816 Plus - not the 816. We strongly recommend upgrading the KSU to the 816 Plus if you're using the 816.

MMC#14 - Station Directory - Name as VoiceTrak

Each VoiceTrak station port should also be named VoiceTrak

MMC #15 - Soft Key Assignment

We suggest that a round button be programmed to call VoiceTrak.

MMC #18 - Hunt Group Name - Name as VoiceTrak

Program the name of Hunt Group 3 for VoiceTrak.

MMC #38 - SL Dialing Class

All single line ports must be identified. If stations 29-32 are single line ports connected to VoiceTrak (ports 9-12), set 0000000011110000. If ports 7 and 8 are used for single line ports, jumpers must be set on the main board of the KSU and the ports must also be set using MMC #38. If stations 27-32 will be used as single line ports, set 0000001111110000.

MMC #39 - Assign Barge-in Status

Program all the VoiceTrak ports for a setting of 1 "You cannot barge in / no one can barge in on you".

MMC #47 - Dial 9 Group

If VoiceTrak will initiate outcall notifications to pagers or other external phone numbers, it will be necessary to define a dial 9 group.

MMC #53 - Transfer Ring Time

This timer must be set substantially higher than the length of time required for VoiceTrak to complete a supervised transfer. For example, if a VoiceTrak mailbox is set to 7 rings and the MMC #53 is set to 20 seconds, problems will result. We recommend that MMC #53 be set to 200 seconds (maximum allowed) to prevent problems if the customer increases the number of rings in an individual mailbox. One symptom of this problem: Callers never return to VoiceTrak following a transfer attempt to a station which was not answered.

MMC #60 - C.O. Line Ring Mode

Set for Individual Ring Mode if VoiceTrak will be used as an automated attendant in either the day or night mode. (If this is not set for individual ring mode, all VoiceTrak ports will ring on an incoming call.)

MMC #61 - Night Ringing Assignment

We recommend that VoiceTrak be programmed to answer all incoming calls in the night mode and that calls not be directed to VoiceTrak in the Day mode. This allows the day/night button (the DND button at the attendant position) to turn the voice mail 'on or off' with one button. The night ring button should ring hunt group 73.

MMC #62 - Day Ringing Assignment

See night ringing above. We suggest that day ringing not be programmed to ring VoiceTrak.

MMC #69 - Station Hunt Groups - Set for Group 73

Program all the VoiceTrak ports as part of station hunt group 3. To program: Enable MMC programming, press #69, dial 3 for hunt group 3, press the DSS button for each VoiceTrak port, press #. VoiceTrak will now be hunt group 73.

MMC # 70 - Attendant Assignment

An attendant position must be defined so the system can be placed in day or night mode.

MMC # 76 - Hunt Group Ring Modes

Set the VoiceTrak hunt group 73 as 'Individual'. Enable MMC programming, dial #76, press 3 for hunt group 3, press 0 for distributed individual, touch #.

MMC #91 - Disconnect Signal to Single Line Port

When an internal caller goes on-hook, or when the 816+ detects a disconnect signal on a CO line, the 816+ can send a disconnect signal to VoiceTrak. Use the default setting of 3 seconds and activate this feature on all SL ports connected to VoiceTrak. If stations 29-32 are connected to VoiceTrak (ports 9-12) you would set 0000000011110000 for 3 seconds.

Notes:

Zone Paging - VoiceTrak can announce the called party over the 816 speakers during a call transfer through the VoiceTrak system. VoiceTrak always tries to use the next-to-the-last port to announce the call. To initiate a page from a single line port on the 816, you must dial the extension number of the port you're using, then the digit 0.

Example: VoiceTrak is connected to the 816 via a Type II card in the first position. VoiceTrak is connected to ports 9-12, which are extensions 29-32 on the 816 system. Since VoiceTrak uses the next-to-the-last port, the extension number is 31. For VoiceTrak to initiate a page it must dial 310.

To enable this feature, access the VoiceTrak mailbox setup screen. In the Zone Page Y/N field enter "Y". In the Zone Page Code field enter "310". If a spoken name has been recorded, VoiceTrak will announce the name over all 816 speakers when the caller selects that mailbox through the VoiceTrak automated attendant system.

Important information regarding system tones

The tones produced by the phone system can vary based on the load placed on the power supply. This means that as phones
