Notes

General -

The Isoetec 96 is a decent phone system with several features to simplify integration. The technology is old and Executone does not have a reputation for cooperating with 3rd party vendors, and the technician should expect little if any assistance from Executone. Other VoiceTrak dealers have found constant hardware problems with this switch, including but not limited to, DTMF senders, DTMF receivers, analog cards, motherboards, etc. We recommend replacing the phone system before installing VoiceTrak.

Tone/Cadence Files -

The Tone/Cadence file is really only used to send a disconnect code during hang-ups. ALL MAILBOXES MUST BE 'N' TYPE. DO NOT USE 'R' TYPE BOXES.

Message Waiting Lights - When an outside caller leaves a new message, the message light on the multibutton sets will light. When the subscriber calls the mailbox to retrieve messages, the light will go off. The LAST VoiceTrak port should be used ONLY as a utility port and not accessed by internal users or outside callers. If the last port is always busy, the lights won't operate properly.

Transfer to fax machine. The tone table includes incoming fax detection. You may add an "X" type mailbox which transfers to a fax machine. Also add a line to the VOICE.BAT file which says: 'SET FAX_BOX=xxx' where xxx is mailbox for the fax machine. Not all fax machines send good CNG tones and will not transfer, but if ax tones are detected, the call will transfer to the extension specified in the FAX_BOX setting.
